Budai is a Chinese folkloric deity and is also referred to by the Sanskrit name Maitreya, the future Buddha. His Chinese name means Cloth Sack and refers to the belongings he is sometimes depicted as carrying. According to Chinese history, Budai was a humble monk, who was considered a man of good and loving character. Built out of cement with a hand painted antique gold finishing.
